    Brain Rambling
I enjoy marshmallows immensely. Yeah I bet you think it's gross. More for me.

There are a zillion people in Oregon with late 70's/early 80's hair. It's bizarre.

My ginger plant, Gigi, is doing well. I should post pics.

Oregon bikes are vintage. Sexy like a vintage pin up, complete with huge silver fenders and a chain guard.

The weather is mild and nice. A bit damp, but so nice.

The Grab and Go shop, where I can spend my meal points, has an abundance of weird Japanese candy.

Weird Japanese candy is fabulous, especially when you have to buy it or lose unused points every Saturday.

I have the bestest bookshop. They are having financial troubles, so buy Xmas gifts from them.

I have two more weeks of school and then I make a mad dash to Portland really early in the morning so I can fly "back east."

There is no "out east" and "back west." Only "back east" or "out west." Pioneer spirit dies hard.

Eugene is peppered with a zillion teeny houses, like smaller than a garage. They serve espresso.

It might be fun to live here, and the weather is great, but I'd never feel at home. I am a New England girl, dyed in the wool.

The further west you go, the bigger the travel mugs get. They have those mega ones, the kind that you could fit a cat in.

I should say "blimey" more often (BLOI-MEEE!), as well as "wicked" as an intensifier.

Oregonians speak very slightly slower than I'm used to.

Then again, I am a surly neurotic Bostonian. My life is a traffic jam with the appropriate sneaky driving manuevers.

Before you go running for the champagne, realize that Governor Mitt Romeny is NOT HAPPY with this, nor are the other legistators of the state government.

    From Yahoo news:

Gov. Mitt Romney disagreed with the decision saying that marriage should be an institution between just one man and one woman. He said that he is going to do all he can to stop marriage licenses from going out to non-traditional couples.

Romney said that he will support an amendment to the Massachusetts Constitution that will limit marriage to a man and a woman.

"Marriage is a relationship between a man and a women. The exact equivalent to marriage is also reserved to a man and a woman. Over the next several months, I will work with Legislative leadership and other legislators and community leaders to decide what kind of statute we can fashion, which is consistent with the law. We obviously have to follow the law as provided by the SJC Even if we don't agree with it, we are going to follow it in terms of preparing legislation. We will initiate a Constitution amendment process that will be consistent with what I think the feelings are of the people of the commonwealth," Romney said.

From me: Let me tell you, you have got to send them mail or phone calls. This isn't just for the state of MA, but for the gay community in the whole country. It's time Mitt Romney and all the rest to keep their religious beliefs out of their political decisions! I can tell you right now that the Political Right will be making a lot of noise during this window of time. We have to keep up with them.

    send them mail!! )
